Catering Services

This division is staffed by highly skilled professionals who have undergone specialised training geared towards providing meals for high density accommodation environments. These include mining hostels, detention facilities, youth development centres, hospitals and universities. On top of this, Bosasa has been asked to sponsor and provide meals to national government rallies and functions. As part of the Group's commitment to social responsibility and upliftment, Bosasa also implemented the "Three Meal System" as prescribed by the Correctional Services Act. This entails 190 000 plates of food per day being served in 4 hour intervals in prisons across South Africa.

Dietetics and Nutritional Services

The staff members in this division are dedicated to providing the highest service standards, and are well-respected within their applied fields. They all have extensive experience working with patients and catering staff in hospitals, community centres and correctional services facilities. This division, as with all of Bosasa, has a strong commitment to corporate social responsibility and have aligned the division to the Correctional Services white paper. It also formed part of the implementation of our "Three Meal System".

High Density Accommodation

In line with the Bosasa ideal of service excellence, we offer full facility management for high density accommodation units such as mining hostels and detention centres.

This service comes with a "no outsourcing" policy which allows the Bosasa team to maintain a high level of quality control. They also ensure that our clients' accommodation facilities are running in a cost-effective and productive manner.

Medical Screening

At Bosasa, we do thorough medical screening and testing on our personnel, when applicable, to assist in their health and to help us to manage risks. We also offer this as a service to our clients, both in the public and private sectors.

Our facilities are set up for general medical examinations, as well as detailed psychometric analyses. We're also able to adapt our testing processes in accordance with our clients' specific requirements.

Training and Development

The state-of-the-art training facilities at Bosasa's head office have trained over 40 000 people in the last five years. We not only train our own employees, but provide courses that are customised specifically for our clients' needs as a value-added product.

All of our training programmes are SETA aligned in order to give participants the best possible education. The Pan African Council for Surveillance Technologists (PACST) also regulates the standards of our surveillance related courses and provides relevant accreditation.

Secure Care

One of Bosasa's most specialised facilities management services is looking after secure care detention centres. Currently, Bosasa is responsible for well over 2 400 children in facilities across South Africa. We're also in charge of the Lindela repatriation facility – the largest centre in the country for holding undocumented migrants. We also work with privately managed correctional centres.

Health and Safety

At Bosasa, we use only qualified professionals to manage our kitchens, clinics and canteens. This is to ensure that our health and safety standards are upheld with regards to IS0 9001 (quality), ISO 14001 (environment) and OHSAS 18001 (safety). Over the years, we have maintained these standards with accreditation.

We also believe that each of our clients should be able to hold themselves to the same standards. This is why we provide qualified personnel, as well as facility management of all health and safety procedures as part of our services.

Sport and Recreation

In keeping with our ongoing commitment to the well-being of our personnel, we believe that it's important for staff members to have balance in their lives. This is why we encourage a structured sports and recreation element to everyone's day within Bosasa. In fact, we have a variety of runners, cyclists, chess players, dancers and triathletes on our teams.

For our clients, we offer a service that helps encourage an active and healthy lifestyle among their employees. We also offer a maintenance service, whereby we look after gyms, sports fields, tennis courts and swimming pools, and upgrade them if necessary.

Equipment and Asset Management

At Bosasa, our Software Development Company (On IT 1) has developed the TrustMaster Suite– a powerful and comprehensive management package. These tools allow us – and our clients – to stay in complete control by tracking and analysing assets, processes and personnel. This software has been careful constructed to be able to work efficiently on any sized facility or company.

Cleaning Services

It's important to Bosasa that we uphold the highest principles throughout the company. This is why we adhere to the ISO 9001:2000 standard for cleaning services for both in-house and our clients. This includes the use of specialised cleaning materials, as well as developing, implementing and maintaining of cleaning staff schedules.

Our cleaning personnel are also given the opportunity to improve their range of skills through regular classes on ABET training. Once graduating from these courses, these people are integrated into a division that suits their desired career path.

Procurement Management

At Bosasa, we cover over 110 categories in procurement including equipment, consumables and building materials. This is for both internal divisions and our clients.

To stay on top of these procurements, we use our world-class management systems in conjunction with Microsoft's Great Plains software. This allows us to get minute-by-minute feedback which, in turn, minimises risk and errors.
