Andries van Tonder is the Head of Finance for the Bosasa Group of companies. He is an Honours graduate in macro commerce and economics which he has used as a platform for specialising in the controlled elimination of risk. This is achieved by combining financial expertise with modern software technology.
Andries has 14 years’ experience in successful financial modelling for eighty companies within the Group. His prowess lies in evaluating global research for forecasting performance. This includes converting monetary and non-monetary parameters and other financial drivers, together with the Group’s intellectual property, into financially sustainable models for both local and international investors. He has built a consistent reputation for delivering on criteria sought by financial institutes and financiers for investment decision making.
Andries has pioneered a world first in software specific applications, that of integrated knowledge management systems such as the KAS and Noah modules, which fall within the ambit of the Trustmaster system. KAS is a Kitchen Administration System that provides daily information on industrial kitchen activities. The system provides total control: proactive checks and daily reports on cash flows, food costs, daily stock and financial controls. It also provides data on irregularities for management and correction. This facilitates daily planning and decision making. Noah is an end- to- end aquaculture management system that has been purpose built with the objective of minimising risk encountered with traditional aquaculture ventures.
Andries’ expertise also lies in the ability to identify trends linked to important sustainability issues. Aquaculture and its value to the Bosasa Group and the national economy’s GDP has also become a specialisation. His extraction of meaningful scientific and financial data and the application in the Great Plains software, has earned Andries global acclamation by Microsoft who indicated an interest in marketing the software.
