The Watson Institute of Business Leadership
The Bosasa work ethos is that of upliftment, strong management and empowering people to lead. The Watson Institute of Business Leadership (Watson IBL) is therefore the ideal platform for us to train our staff and complete the empowerment circle through ongoing up-skilling programs.
In essence, Watson IBL is an Ivy League equivalent business school, based in South Africa. Its training facilities are housed in state-of-the-art facilities at the Mogale Business Park, which is Bosasa’s head office. The school is privately owned and offers a world-class education for the employees who are committed to service excellence, top-quality work and impeccable business ethics.
Watson IBL strives “to build brilliant teams through brilliant people”.
Each course aims to give students who have a passion for business and raw leadership skills the tools to become future forerunners in the South African economy. The courses are also based on both local and international best practices when it comes to interactive learning.
The students learn mainly through case studies that are from actual companies in South Africa. This teaches them to see the ramifications of each decision taken and how to account for all the possible reactions that could play out before them. They are also given team exercises and simulations to complete, as well as on-site experiences. This means that each graduate has a strong theoretical background and the practical knowledge of what it’s like to be a decision maker.
