President’s Award for Youth Empowerment
The President’s Award for Youth Empowerment is a programme aimed at providing a very strong development tool for young people around South Africa (between the ages of 14 and 25). This registered non-profit organisation has been operating since 1983 and Bosasa has been an active partner – receiving Bronze, Silver and Gold certification – since 2006.
Bosasa is proud to facilitate the growth and development of South Africa’s youth. Our partnership with the President’s Award is aimed at encouraging young people to:
- Participate in community service
- Play sports and enjoy recreation
- Increase their education and skills
- Contribute to leadership programmes and outdoor adventures
Through these various programmes, points are accumulated by each teenager who is monitored to determine their progress. The President’s Award initiative identifies youths who are in desperate need of channelling their energies towards a bright and prosperous future. This is accomplished through various activities, as well as the relationships formed with adult volunteer leaders.
