The FJL Wells Music School
Studies have shown conclusively that learners who play a musical instrument perform better in Maths and Science. Music lessons also expose people to various cultures from around the world and their histories. These are some of the reasons why we at Bosasa chose to sponsor the FJL Wells Music School.
This school for the disadvantaged is in Bhongweni, Randfontein. The village is an old Robinson mine settlement and the name means 'a place of pride'. At Bosasa, we hope to give this sense of pride to the children who attend the music school.
It’s also with a great sense of pride that we can provide new opportunities for these children and their parents, including:
- Brand new instruments and equipment for teaching
- Entrance into music competitions
- School fees covered for the year
The school still maintains its primary function as an education facility and, at Bosasa, we make sure of this. The children are all encouraged to show equal dedication to their academics, as well as their arts.
