The Fezeka High School Computer Centre
Bosasa has had a long standing belief that our corporate social responsibility is to help improve the employability of the average South African. With this in mind, we set up the Fezeka High School Computer Centre.
Studies have shown that learning basic computer skills at a secondary school level will improve employability. It will also give students a better chance of successfully applying to tertiary education.
We chose to come to the aid of Fezeka High School in Gugulethu, Cape Town, because of a request from Baleka Mbete. This school fitted the profile of our upliftment vision, as well as the government's strategic plan for organisations to support local communities. Sondolo IT, the integrated technology subsidiary of Bosasa, took control of this centre and invested R60 000 into the computers and the facilities. They also provide essential maintenance on all of the equipment.
Sondolo IT is no stranger to assisting previously disadvantaged communities. In fact, many of our employees have come through development programmes. They have now gone on to operate in advanced technology fields with extraordinary success.
