The Westonaria Community Computer Centre
Bosasa has a wide range of computer centres spread across South Africa. Each of them is equipped with the latest technology and software. There are also recognised computer training courses at all of the centres so that the users can learn the basic skills required to use the machines. One such centre is the Westonaria Community Computer Centre.
The small mining town of Westonaria in Gauteng has suffered a lot of setbacks in recent years, especially when many of the mine employees had to be laid off. These people were left with few new job prospects and Bosasa stepped in to try and find a way to offer relief.
The computer centre was an excellent answer to the situation. We set up 50 new computers and offered training courses from beginner level to advanced. These courses were free of charge to the members of the mining community, and their children. This helped people to improve their job skills and opened up a new employment market to them.
