Youth in conflict with the law require specialised care in addition to separation and protection from hardened criminals. BOSASA Youth Development Centres offer the ideal environment for doing this. Young people between 14 and 21 live in a safe environment where their physical needs are met and they can attend school and learn new skills to equip them for a crime-free life upon discharge.

Coyrtney Ahmad, Managing Director of BOSASA Youth Development Centres, is the driving force behind rehabilitating troubled youth.

Ahmad is also Executive Director of the BOSASA Group of Companies and brings his unique experience and passion for youth to BOSASA’s board. This long-established team of directors value people development, social justice and transformation so highly that BOSASA personifies empowerment. Ahmad is also the head of our security team

Ahmad, an exceptional and lifelong student, has many qualifications and achievements to his name. his doctoral work at the University of Johannesburg deals with Risk and Resilience of Adolescents.Heholds a BA Social Science degree (Social Work), an honours degree (Human Resource Development) and a master’s degree in Social Development (Employee Assistance Programmes).

Ahmad’s determination to give people from all backgrounds access to meaningful education, coupled with his strategic vision, make his the ideal chair of the advisory board of WATSON Corporate Academy, which designs and implements models for staff development.

Accredited by the International Institute of Restorative Practices in Canada as a Real Justice Conference Facilitator Trainer, Ahmad linked up with the Matrix Institute for Addictions in the USA. Implementing the Matrix programme for young offenders in BOSASA’s care has been one of his highest achievements. Matrix administrators from the USA conduct regular visits and audits with stringent attention to detail to certify clinics and sites all over the world. Ahmad received rare acclaim for his application of the Matrix model and his integration of its principles in BOSASA Youth Development Centres, raising them to the top echelon of sites globally.

Ahmad’ expertise in translating strategy, policies, procedures, legislation, theory and practice into information management systems that can harness the potential of the labour market and help build an empowered, economically successful Europe.
